Cancel a Submitted Purchase Requisition

Cancel a Submitted Purchase Requisition

Important Notes:

  • The process for canceling a Purchase Requisition or requisitions lines is dependent on the approval status. Requisitions pending department approval can be canceled by the transaction creator.

  • If the requisition has been approved by all department approvers, contact the buyer listed on the requisition to request rejection. After the buyer rejects the transaction, follow the instructions below.

Step 1: Log in to Bronco Hub and Access Purchase Requisitions

  1. Begin by signing in to Bronco Hub.

  2. Select My Organization from the top navigation section of Bronco Hub and then select Purchase Requisitions.

Step 2: Select the Requisition pending approval

From the Requisitions landing page, select the hyperlink for the Requisition that needs cancelled.

Only Requisitions displaying “Pending approval” can be cancelled. If the Requisition status is “Approved”, contact the buyer assigned to the Requisition to discuss options for cancellation.

Cancel Specific Lines from a Requisition

Withdraw and Edit the REQ

  1. Select Actions located in the upper right hand corner of the REQ you are editing.

  2. Select Withdraw and Edit.

  1. Scroll to the “Requisitions Lines” section and select the X located in the Delete column for the lines that need to be deleted.

  1. After removing lines, select Save.

  2. After deleting necessary lines, select Submit in the upper right hand corner to route the updated REQ through the approval workflow.

What’s next:

  • If the entire requisition is canceled, any encumbered funds will be released. Department approvers will not be notified of the cancellation via Bronco Hub notifications. Best practice is to email your department approvers to let them know the transaction has been canceled and does not require their approval. If needed, you can view a canceled REQ by following the instructions outlined on the page linked here.

  • If specific lines are canceled, the revised and submitted requisition will route through the approval workflow.
