I submitted something in Bronco Hub and I’m waiting for it to be approved. How can I see where an action is in the approval workflow?

  1. View approvals for expense reports, requisitions, or invoice payments by running the Financial Transaction Approval Workflow dashboard.

  2. View approvals for HR actions by searching for the submitted action in the Transaction Console.

Do all submitted actions route through approvals in the same order?

No, approval routing depends on the action category and type. There are 3 approval routing categories: Budget Transfers, Financial Transactions and Human Resource Actions.

An existing approver is changing roles or leaving the university, what are my next steps to update the approver role to someone else?

If a designated approver is leaving the university, changing roles or should no longer be a designated department approver, the department should complete the following before employee departure

  1. Submit the Approval Workflow Maintenance form to update the designated approver(s). Please note: there may be a day delay between updates to Bronco Hub approvers and updates to Perceptive form approvers. 

  2. Have the existing approver confirm no transactions need their review and approval. Approvers can visit their worklist in Bronco Hub to see transactions in their approval queue. Links to job aids to view financial transactions and time cards via worklist

  3. Do not submit transactions if they will not be fully approved by the employee’s last day. 

  4. If the employee is a supervisor, designate new supervisor(s) in Bronco Hub prior to the employee leaving the university. Link to update manager job aid.

What is meant by approval delegation? Who can create or update delegations?

Designated department approvers or supervisors can choose to delegate their approval authority to another employee as needed. It is best practice to set up delegations when out of office or unable to approve transactions for an extended period of time. Link to delegation job aid.

The Office of Continuous Improvement (OCI) cannot add, edit or remove approval delegations. Delegation rules (adding or removing) must be completed by the employee that needs to delegate approval authority.
