Step 2: View or Open an Evaluation

By default, the Evaluate Performance page will be filtered to show In Progress evaluations that require action from you. If needed, select filter criteria to update the view based on Document Status to “Completed” or “Canceled”. You can also update the Current Task Owner filter from “Me” to “All” to view employee self evaluations. For additional information on filters and search options, visit the View the Status of Employee Evaluations job aid.

  1. For each performance standard, you must enter both a rating and a comment.

Step 5: (Optional) Upload Attachments

  1. Select Drag and Drop to upload a Word, PDF, or other document type as supporting documentation for the annual evaluation. Do not include a URL as external documentation.

Step 6: Share the Evaluation with the Employee for Review

If your department completes an internal department review before routing the evaluation to the employee, visit the Transfer a Bronco Hub Evaluation job aid before moving forward with the steps below.

Sharing the evaluation with the employee is a two step process.

  1. Scroll to the top of the evaluation and select Submit. You will be routed back to the Evaluate Performance landing page.

    1. In order to share the evaluation with the employee for their review, you must submit your ratings and comments. Confirm you have submitted ratings and comments by viewing the Current Task details.

    2. If the Current Task is “Manager Evaluation of the Employee”, click on the evaluation hyperlink name and select Submit in the upper right corner.

  2. Access the evaluation you just submitted by selecting the hyperlinked evaluation name and select Share and Retain in the upper right corner to share the evaluation with the employee.

Share and Retain: Sharing and retaining will allow the employee to view the evaluation content(ratings, comments, etc.) but they will not be able to make edits. The supervisor will retain control over the content of the evaluation and can make edits.

Share and Release: Sharing and releasing will allow the employee to view and enter additional comments in the evaluation. It allows the employee to actively participate in the next step of the evaluation process. Supervisors cannot make edits to the evaluation after sharing and releasing. If you need to make edits after releasing the evaluation, you must email evaluations@boisestate.edu for assistance.

If you have multiple direct reports, you can share all evaluations at the same time by selecting the checkboxes to the left of the evaluations and selecting the applicable share option from the Actions drop down.

  1. After selecting Share and Retain, you will be routed to the same page with the Share buttons.

    1. You will not receive a confirmation message that the evaluation has been routed to the employee.

    2. The employee will receive a system generated email letting them know their evaluation is available for review. The subject of the email will include, “Annual Performance Evaluation is Available for Review”.

  1. After sharing the evaluation with the employee, schedule a meeting with them to discuss their evaluation and their performance and development objectives for the upcoming year.

  2. During the meeting, you (as the supervisor) can open the employee evaluation up to edit and/or finalize the evaluation questionnaire that contains performance and development objectives for the upcoming year.

    1. To make edits to an evaluation that has been shared and retained, you must select the three dots to the right of the evaluation and select Edit Submitted Manager Evaluation. After selecting edit, access the evaluation again to update or add information as needed.
